Summer Updates!

Here is a small update on what we have been doing the past month.

Mike and I spent 2 weekends in a row in Minnesota. The first was for a twins game and the second was for Kolacky Days. Mike had never been to Kolacky Days in Montgomery before, so we went up and took in the whole weekend.

On Saturday night instead of going out to the park or downtown, we took a family trip to the Burnsville Skateville! It was a hoot. Nobody made it all night without falling.

The highlight of the night was when Party in the USA came on and Mike began doing his skater moves!

All night long I had been taking pictures with our camera, so I asked Megan to quick take a picture of Mike and I to put on our blog. I had no idea how hard it was to get a good picture of just us!

First Dad came out of nowhere and bombed the picture.

NICE

Then Paige and Conrad skated in at the last moment

and bombed the next picture. . .lol

Finally, a good one!

Shelby and Kellen

On Sunday, we woke up early and went to register for the 4 mile road race.

Mike was a good sport and said he would run with me :)

He was hoping that they would have Kolackys at the water stops.

He was very wrong!

Eating some yummy food during the 2 hour long Kolacky Day's Parade

We took up the whole sidewalk in front of the quilt shop

and music studio to watch the parade.

TWINS GAME

We got 2 tickets from brother in law, Nick and drove up for the night to see a twins game in the new stadium! It was so worth it. What a great night AND they won, which made it all the better!

~The people sitting next to us were such weirdos~

Our seats were great and we had great waitress service.

We had a great time and can't wait until we go to another game!

GO TWINS

We celebrated our 5th Wedding Anniversary on Friday!

Mike asked for one thing - a pressure cooker, so I could can all

these darn veggies that keep coming out of our garden!

I couldn't ask for a better husband.

So far we have 3 pints of salsa, 6 pints of corn, and 3 quarts of tomatoes.
The pressure cooker works great! I know what I will be doing for the next week. . . more tomatoes, beans, and tons of green pepers :)

Mike starts Football camp on Monday.

School is just around the corner.

Duty Days start August 16th and the kids start 3 days later on the 19th.

We are both very excited for another great year.

I will be teaching preschool again with 3, 4, and 5 year olds,

and Mike will be in the high school teaching something boring. . .lol.

Enjoying our last few weeks of freedom here in Iowa!
