Welcome Brooklyn Michelle Hougen!
On Thursday evening, October 20th, I was induced at Genesis Hospital. The next morning, October 21st at 5:51 a.m. Brooklyn joined our family and we loved her instantly!
We were so excited to finally meet her. She was 7 lb, 1 oz. and 19 inches long. We spent 2 nights in the hospital and we were lucky enough to have a couple visitors - Becca and Jake - to the hospital to see Brooklyn. They were equally excited to be her first visitors.
On Sunday afternoon, we came home to say good-bye to Jake and Becca and hello to my Mom and brother Conrad. They stayed for a few days to help me with the baby and let me get some rest since Mike had to go back to school on Monday.

Bathroom Before and After
Before -
Dad and Mike hung sheetrock on Saturday and Sunday. They got it all done except for one small piece that Mike will need to do before mud/tape/texture. It was a lot of messing with the closet, chimney, and around windows, but it is really looking like a real bedroom now and it makes me so excited!Extra insulation went in around all the walls and chimney to help hold in the heat and air conditioning better for a more efficient home.
Megan also helped paint our built in bookshelves and closet shelves. They are a dark brown, and the walls will be a light green.
Megan's wonderful paint job done :)
Around Staircase (half wall).
Flooring, vanity, mirrors, electrical outlets went in today in the bathroom and outlets in the bedroom. Still need to hang vanity lights, storage cabinet, put toilet in, faucet and bathroom door. Hopefully they will be done tomorrow! It has gone by super fast. The only thing left in the bedroom will be mud/tape/texture, paint, then carpet. We are currently held up because we do not have anyone to mud/tape/texture. Paint and carpet are ready to go so as soon as we can find a drywall guy to do our bedroom we will be set.

37 WEEKS - READY FOR HALLOWEEN!
While Kendall was visiting us in Iowa, she decided one evening while we were hanging out that she wanted to paint because her mother was painting the bathroom. We thought it would be fun to paint my belly like a pumpkin and she took her job very seriously. She was so proud when she was done and it looked just like a pumpkin!

Kendall was also a great helper to me because a lot of the tomatoes in my garden have fallen onto the ground under the plant and I cannot reach them! She was able to easily reach them for me. After we collected all the red tomatoes we could find, she was a great help and washed them all in the sink for me.
