On Monday, I had my initial appointment with my OBGYN, Dr. Yates, to meet him, answer any questions we had, and to see if they could find the heart beat on the dopplar. They said at this point that it sometimes cannot be heard. The nurse found it after about 30 seconds, very low on my tummy. It was a strong 171. It sounded like a fast horse that was gallopping. My favorite wives tale is that a faster heart beat means it's a girl. Mike is hopeful that it is just that - a wives tale!
Today marks my 10 weeks! I am feeling great - no sickness, just some nausea and extreme tiredness! I am usually in bed before 8, sleeping by 8:30. I have been trying to eat healthier, and the only craving that I have had is avacado's. I usually eat 3-4 each week! Not a bad craving to have though. I am constantly drinking water (maybe that is why I'm always peeing) because of the dry mouth that seems to never go away!
I feel like a fat lard, and after looking at my picture that Mike took it looks like I hardly have anything there. I wish I had a "before" pregnancy picture to see actual progress. Mike says I do look bigger than it was before, but that this is just what "normal" people's tummy's look like! (I think he is just being kind). I will post pictures periodically during the pregnancy for you all to view as I progress.
My tummy is actually smaller now than it was a month ago now that my bloat has gone down. The first month of my pregnancy my stomach would get HUGE, then the next day it would go down to super skinny again. I am glad that it is now just a constant thing and that my older sister Megan gave me some of her old size 4 dress pants that I must now wear since I busted a button on one pair of pants and broke the zipper on another!

MIKE 10 WEEKS PREGNANT!
We have another appointment on the 30th for an exam, bloodwork, etc. and to hear the heartbeat again. I will have an appointment every 4 weekse until I am 32 weeks. I will not have another sonogram until 20 weeks when we find out the sex!
Mike and I have decided to tell friends/coworkers when I reach 12 weeks. He wants to tell people on April 1st when I am 11 weeks. I thought this would be funny because we can just say "April Fools" after and then they will never know the truth. . . lol.
