Hello Everyone.
We have been on the longest vacation in the history of our lives - 17 days long, and well worth it :)
It all started on June 10th when we left Iowa for Minnesota. Herbie stayed in Durant with some friends out on a farm, chasing cats and loving country life. Barkley stayed with the McCrady’s and gained about 10 lbs.
Shelby flew out on the 11th to Sarasota, Florida and Mike went to Lake Milacs for a bachelor party. He met us in Florida the next night.
We spent a whole week on the beautiful beaches of Siesta Keys with my Sister, Megan's family and 2 of my other sisters - Taylor and Annie. We had such a wonderful time and we all burnt horribly. We all took a day trip to Orlando and went to Hollywood Studios. Many of them tackled the Tower of Terror and other terrifying rollercoasters.
We left Sarasota on Friday, June 17th to go to Denver, Colorado for a Hougen Family Wedding. It was so beautiful out there. We had the opportunity to drive up into the mountains on Monday. It was a cloudy day and we didn't know what kind of weather we would find up there. . .when we got to the continental divide we found a few skiiers and about 6 inches of brand new snow! It was quite the trip to see snow on the last day of Spring :)
We left Denver on Tuesday, June 21st and went to Montgomery. While in Montgomery I got to do some sewing, visiting with family - taking family pictures, attending a college friend’s wedding and watching my sister, Allistair, in her Senior Piano Recital.
I must say that it has been an eventful June for us all and I am very relieved to be home in my own bed with my babies - Herbie and Barkley. Barkley has found a new spot to sleep at night - under our bed. . .haha
Our projects this summer include getting the baby room ready and finishing up our attic space into a master bedroom/bathroom. We met with a contractor on Monday morning to go over prices, ideas, etc. We are anxiously awaiting his call this week for finalization and start dates!
To stay within our budget we have decided to only have the contractor complete our bathroom remodel as well as oversee electric and heat/air duct work upstairs. Mike has decided that with the help of family, he will be able to do the rest - which includes:
*sanding/staining/varnishing the ceiling
*framing up walls and putting up sheetrock/mudding and taping
*painting, flooring and building closets
My job this summer is to:
*Get the baby room ready (After Sept. 1st)
*Make sure everything is done properly upstairs in the master bedroom
*and Update bloggy
Another Dr. Appointment tomorrow morning.
I am 25 weeks today!! Woohoo. Only 15 more to go (If I go on time).
