6 weeks and counting. . . Construction Begins

As of today, I am 6 weeks from my due date (34 weeks). I can remember when I was 6 weeks pregnant and thinking how FAR away I was from having her. . . now it seems like it will be here any moment - and wondering if we are ready.

Friday night, Mike's football team played North Cedar High School. They played a lot better than last week even though they lost - the final score was 0-35!

WHAT did we do for Labor Day weekend?? Saturday, Mike and I went through the baby clothes and picked out her hospital clothes and I washed, sized and stuffed all of her cloth diapers.

On Sunday, Mike also did some last minute demolition in the basement of the house where the plumbing will go down and across to reach our original plumbing.

I have been continuing to can my tomatoes! I have been getting 10-20 each day. I have a total of 12 jars of pizza sauce. This weekend, I made 7 jars of salsa and am making more today!

Last night I made some home made bread. It was ready right before bed, so I had a few pieces in bed, warm with butter right out of the bread maker. I then wrapped it up in a towel and went to bed. This morning when I woke up, I yelled for Mike - "Where did you put all of the bread?" The crumbs were all there, but no bread!! (I figured he had eaten it).

5 minutes later, we figured out where it went - into Herbie's stomach!!!!!

I WAS FURIOUS!

I had spent all this time making a delicious loaf of bread and it was gone! A few minutes later I decided, well, I will just make another. I went to start making it (at 6 am), and realized that the small metal hook that goes onto the bottom of the pan was missing! (It is usually stuck in the loaf until you cut it out).

So many thoughts were running through my head -

Had Herbie eaten it??
Would I have to search through his poop to find it??
How important could this little hook be?? (okay - very important)
This is just like that movie where the dog eats the engagement ring and Stiffler has to pick up the turd.

NOW WHAT!!!

Then I looked down to where Herbie sleeps at night and found it laying there.

WHAT A RELIEF.

I was so not going to search through the poop for a few days.
As I am typing this I am smelling the new loaf baking in the bread maker! Can't wait to taste it.

Construction started yesterday! There were few 'glitches' in the layout of the bathroom and being able to fit the tub where they originally thought because of the slant of our roof so they have re-organized it all to fit! They are now pounding and working away as I type.

Ending Time Frame: 2 weeks from when plumbing/HVAC and electrical work is all done. . . . .

Here is a preview of what they did today.

As you can see, there are 3 pipes -

The large one on the right is for the toilet.

The one in the back is for the shower/tub combo.

The shower/tub will be on the left corner and left wall.

The last pipe is the one on the far left. This is for the sinks.

The sinks will run on the left wall also (before the shower/tub)

Our Vanity/Sink Combo. Mike convinced me to get the double bowl, rather than the single like I wanted. Not as much counter space to put our junk, but apparently I'm a sink hog so hopefully this will solve the problem!
